Morning departure from Split, meet your private driver at your hotel or private accommodation address. The distance between Split, Mostar and Dubrovnik is 280 km. Next, pass through the Neretva valleys and enjoy a scenic drive along. Our first destination for a day is the city of Mostar, where the culture of the East meets the West. Arriving in Mostar, your driver will be leaving you at the entrance of the old town. From there, you will meet your local guide (if you choose to have one) for Mostar’s private tour and your 2-hour adventure starts. In Mostar, you will see a coexistence of cultures between Muslims, Christians and Jews. Finally, you’ll see the iconic Old Bridge attracts tourists from all over the world. Tour Guide for Mostar is not included in the price of the tour and can be provided on client’s request.
The name Mostar means “bridge keeper.” The presence of a river crossing was why the city developed in the first place. World-famous Stari Most (Old Bridge) is Mostar’s indisputable visual focus. Just seeing and walking across this world-renowned bridge makes spending a day in Mostar worth it. If you’re lucky, you might even catch Mostar divers jumping from the bridge into the chilly river below; a tradition since 1968. Furthermore, you can explore the surrounding area along with the bridge under the UNESCO World Heritage list (since 2005). Finally, we will have enough time for lunch in one of the local restaurants where you can try “Traditional Bosnian cuisine”. Refreshed after lunch, we continued our trip towards Dubrovnik.
After spending some time in Mostar, we can visit the city of Ston (optional activity). It’s famous for the longest stone wall in Europe (5.5 km), salt cultivation farming, and oyster growing farms since Roman times. Truly, the Ston walls, 5km long, are the longest defensive structure in Europe. They are sometimes referred to as the “European Walls of China”. Built in the 14th and 15th centuries as extra defense for the Republic of Ragusa (Dubrovnik) to protect the salt pans in the area. Following extensive renovations, the walls were open to visitors. Moreover, interesting are the ancient salt pans that were in use during the Dubrovnik Republic more than 700 years ago. Visit Ston (Peninsula Peljesac), for up to 1 hour – additional 75 EUR (price per vehicle, not per person)
“Explore the difference of cultural heritage where East meets the West”
“Discover Ston famous for the longest stone wall in Europe, salt cultivation farming and oyster growing farms”
“End in Dubrovnik, the most known tourist destinations on the Adriatic coast”
