We start in the morning. Let us take you on a private tour from Split to Mostar. Next, pass through the Neretva valleys and enjoy a scenic drive along. Our first stop for a day is Blagaj Village. It is the famous natural spring of the Buna River, the largest karst spring in Europe. The spring is to be found under a 200-metre-high rock. Very near it stands the fascinating dervish Tekija monastery that, together with its surrounding landscape, creates a unique and unrepeatable scenery. Truly, you can still feel a strong oriental culture as the village was founded in the 14th century.
After walking and having coffee, we continued to Mostar. It is well known as the town where the culture of the East meets the West. The world-famous Stari Most (Old Bridge) is Mostar’s visual focus. The bridge’s swooping stone arch was originally built between 1557 and 1566 by the orders of Suleyman, the Magnificent. Stretching 28 meters across the Neretva River and connecting the Croatian and Muslim sides of the city, the iconic Old Bridge attracts tourists from all over the world.
After departing Mostar but before crossing the border back into Croatia, it’s worth stopping at Kravice Waterfalls. The falls are fascinating features of the Herzegovina region and the most impressive. The waterfalls change following the water levels of the Trebižat river. From emerald green in summer to dark blue in winter. The area in the park has a little cafe, a rope swing, and a place to camp. Visit Kravice Waterfalls for up to 1 hour – additional 50 EUR (price per vehicle, not per person).
After the tour in Mostar, your driver can take you to the small wine-growing village of Čitluk. You’ll meet the family “Brkić“. In other words, the wine here is a member of their family. It is a magical place where a new life is born. In this local winery, you will try their best wines with a presentation of winemaking. They serve four authentic, high-quality wines, domestic cheese, and homemade olive oil. The price of wine tasting is additional 40 EUR per person.
