Day trip Split to Hvar departure is scheduled at 8.30 am, morning ferry from Split Harbor. Next, Arriving at the island of Hvar at 10.00 are we start our Panoramic drive towards Hvar town. Next, we visit the Lavender fields around the village of Brusje, high up on the old road to Stari Grad. In fact, this village has stunning views of the seas and mainland. We walk through Lavender fields. Appreciate the magnificent color and breathe in the hypnotic qualities. Besides lavender fields, we tour Hvar town. The oldest municipal theatre in Europe (established in 1612), the arsenal and the fortress Fortica, Cathedral of Hvar. Finally, the city tour ends with time for coffee at the famous Hvar promenade.
Our program continues as we meet the leading Croatian winemaker “Duboković”. You will be invited to step into the family house and winery and listen to stories from the firsthand winemaker. The Plavac grapes Medvid and Medvjedica come from there. All the wines are fermented with natural yeast. Depending on the type of wine, they combine stainless steel and woods of various ages. Apart from the wines, they produce a wide range of varietal and aromatized olive oils. Day trip Split to Hvar ends with an “authentic culinary picnic” (optional) at the picturesque village of Vrisnik. Your meal will be prepared in a “traditional island way” and served by the island’s best olive oil producer Mr. Borivoj Bojanic and his wife Zeljka. Return from Split to Hvar day trip is scheduled at 15:00 am by a catamaran to the mainland – to the city of Split.
