With people traveling from Dubrovnik to Split, we offer unforgettable and authentic food experiences. Our private transfer starts in the morning. Your driver guide will meet you at your hotel or private accommodation address in Dubrovnik. Next, we drove northwest alongside the Adriatic coast. We’ll pass the villages of Orašac, Trsteno, Salona and Elaphiti islands to our side. During the drive, our experienced driver will explain to you the history, culture and food of the area. Arriving in Ston, your driver will be leaving you at the entrance to the town. It’s famous for the longest stone wall in Europe (5.5 km), salt cultivation farming, and oyster growing farms since Roman times. Interesting are the ancient salt pans used during the Dubrovnik Republic. Salt is still produced here.
After spending time in the city, we will continue our trip to the village of Mali Ston, where we will meet our friend and fisherman Dubo. Indeed, you can relax on a private boat and enjoy the finest oysters in Croatia. A short drive from Ston, you will get on a private boat to visit an oyster farm with a small oyster grower and taste oysters pulled straight from the sea for you. They will be matched with homemade wine too. Let your experienced guide immerse you in the history and culture of this area and explain to you about oyster farming in Croatia. The price of oyster tasting is additional 40 EUR per person.
Furthermore, we will take you on a one-hour ride through the wine-growing region of “Pelješac”. Your driver will give you a great insight into the local life and traditions. We will drive through the spectacular scenery of vineyards, olive orchards, valleys, and slopes. The trip’s highlight is a visit to a local winery, “Miloš”. Producing grapes and wine in Ponikve has been a family tradition for many generations. Production is based on the indigenous variety of Plavac Mali. In the local winery, we will taste 4 different wines (white, orange, rose & red wine) and domestic delicacies such as; Dalmatian smoked ham, cheese, family produced domestic olive oil & bread. Vineyard tour with the winery owner itself! The price of wine tasting is additional 40 EUR per person.
Finally, we can stop for lunch in one of the local restaurants. At the seaside promenade in Mali Ston, in the medieval salt storage room, there is a restaurant called “Bota”, an old name for an arched ceiling. Oysters are the symbol of this area. Together with crabs and fish are stored according to original Ston recipes from the time of the Dubrovnik Republic. After lunch (at your own expense), we are ending this day in Split and are expected to arrive at 3.00 pm.
“The Pelješac peninsula is one of the best wine-producing regions in Croatia“
“Panoramic boat tour around the Mali Ston bay. Enjoy the finest oysters in Croatia”
“Vineyard tour with the winery owner, taste 4 different wines (white, orange, rose, red)”
