We start with the best of Croatia and Slovenia tour at Zagreb Airport. Welcome with our driver guide for, and transfer to your accommodation in Zagreb. Depending on your arrival time we will have a short orientational tour of Zagreb “the Capital of Croatia”. In other words, the city tour will give you an insight into two different cities: the modern, urban, and the historic and cultural Zagreb. Start at Zagreb’s main square – Ban Jelačić Square. You will take a ride by Zagreb’s funicular, which is the shortest cable car in the world. From the Upper Town, we will enjoy some of the most beautiful views of the area. We continue our tour passing by Zagreb’s Cathedral and walking through Croatia’s biggest green market ”Dolac”. With many museums, galleries, cafes, open markets, clubs, and pubs, Zagreb is today a city pulsing with life!
After breakfast in the morning, we continue our best of Croatia and Slovenia tour. Drive towards Ljubljana – “the capital of Slovenia”. Ljubljana is a medium-sized European city. It’s a place where eastern and western cultures meet. Together with our driver guide, we walk through the old town district to explore many baroque buildings. The colorful farmer’s market, the cathedral of St. Nicholas, the old medieval fortress which stands up there like an old guardian of the city. Finally, we are also taking you to a local restaurant, where you will have a chance to try some of Ljubljana’s famous dishes together with a local draft beer! After the city tour and lunch, we continue towards Lake Bled. Check-in and overnight stay Bled.
After breakfast in the morning, we will take a tour around Bled Lake. The stunning blue lake in the heart of the town and the picture-postcard church on the island. A medieval castle clinging to a rocky cliff and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps. This Alpine lake has been a world-renowned paradise for centuries. Lookout at the lake from a castle on a cliff and visit the island on a traditional “pletna” boat. After lunch in a local restaurant, we continue our trip towards Lake Bohinj. There we will take a cable car and get up to 1537 m at Vogel mountain. Following the tour of Bohinj, we return to your accommodation in Bled. Overnight stay in Bled.
This day we are leaving towards Croatia. On our way, we will stop at Postojna cave and Pređama castle. In the beginning, enjoy train ride into the heart of the caves. A few more kilometers from Postojna is Pređama castle. The Karst world offers an unforgettable experience in the fairytale world of knights. Today the caves under Pređama Castle are the home of a colony of bats. Pređama Castle has been used as a filming venue for many documentaries and feature films. The castle has also mesmerized George R. R. Martin, author of the best-seller “The Game of Thrones”. Finally, you are going to enjoy a traditional lunch in one of the local restaurants. Following lunch, we are continuing the trip towards Rovinj.
Morning to enjoy in Rovinj, well known as the “romance capital of Adriatic”. It is the right destination for all the guests seeking a sentimental atmosphere. Next, we continue the trip to Pula. For visit, it’s a great Roman amphitheater and an interesting old town with 2000 years old history. Next, we’ll take you to discover the continental part of Istria. The green oasis with many hills and vineyards. Its landscape is often compared to the one of Tuscany or Provence. On our Istrian tour, we will also try some of the world-known specialties of Istrian cuisine. In Motovun, we have the opportunity to experience a traditional Istrian truffle lunch. Without any doubt, truffles are gastronomical jewels. Return in Rovinj and free time in the evening.
We are continuing our best of Croatia and Slovenia tour and we proceed towards the Plitvice Lakes National Park. On the way to the lakes, We’ll stop at Rastoke – an idyllic watermill village we often like to call “the Small Lakes of Plitvice”. After the time in Rastoke to the next destination, Plitvice. In the National Park will walk along the majestic string of sixteen cascaded lakes connected with beautiful waterfalls. The tour of the National Park will take approximately 3 hours. and will include a boat ride over the big lake and a train ride through the parking area at the end. Today, we continue our driver guide for Croatia and Slovenia tour to Šibenik, the oldest Croatian city on the Adriatic coast. Today, discover the old part of the largest Dalmatian town of Split and travel back to the “ancient Roman Empire”. The split will make You feel like a spot-on-time traveler! Next, you will meet our skipper who will take you to the town of Trogir and Blue Lagoon. After a half-hour boat ride, we will reach Trogir town. In Trogir, You will have plenty of time for a city walk and coffee at the main promenade. Next, we leave Trogir to Blue Lagoon, the popular name for the vibrant “Krknjaši bay”. An oasis for those looking to escape the city crowds and buzz. The Blue Lagoon is only accessible by boat, which makes it more exclusive. It’s time for swimming. We have a day to enjoy it!
This day we are leaving Split to the Island of Hvar. At the Island, we start our Panoramic drive towards Hvar. First, we visit Lavender fields around the village of Brusje, high up on the old road to Stari Grad. Our day continues as we meet the leading Croatian winemaker ”Duboković”. You will be invited to step into the family house and winery as well. Apart from the wines, they produce a wide range of aromatized olive oils. This trip ends with authentic island lunch at the picturesque village of Vrisnik. Followed by lunch transfer to Hvar town and overnight stay in Hvar.
We continue our best of Croatia and Slovenia tour. Morning you will have a city walk in Hvar. The oldest municipal theatre in Europe (established in 1612). The arsenal and the Franciscan monastery, the fortress Fortica, the Cathedral of Hvar and last, but not least, the famous Hvar beaches where you will have free time for relaxing and swimming. As per your wish, we can take a taxi boat to the popular “Pakleni islands” or the famous “Blue Cave” across the town of Hvar. The Blue Grotto or Blue Cave is a water-logged sea cave located in a small bay called Balun on the east side of the island of Biševo. Overnight stay Hvar.
This day we are leaving towards Dubrovnik. Together with our driver, we will drive from Hvar to Sučuraj, where we catch a ferry to the town of Drvenik and the mainland. After 2 hours drive to our first stop, the city of Ston. It’s famous for the longest stone wall in Europe (5.5 km), salt cultivation farming, and oyster growing farms, since Roman times. Ston oysters are natural aphrodisiacs and make this region world-famous. Driving across the Pelješac peninsula, we’ll discover one of the most famous Croatian wine regions. Sandy soil and a maximum of sunlight are creating a primary condition for some of the top-quality Croatian red wines. We will have the opportunity to visit one of the local family wineries and try some of the best wines in the region. Refreshed after wine, we end this day in Dubrovnik.
Finally, the Best of Croatia and Slovenia tour is reserved for exploring the old town of Dubrovnik. “Best of Dubrovnik” is a great tour to get to know the history of the town. First, we start at the monumental Pile Gate, located at the top of Stradun. The splendid main promenade street of the Old Town. Dubrovnik is known as ”the Pearl of the Adriatic”. Each corner of this legendary city is its own unique experience. Next, we visit the Franciscan Monastery. A little further is the Cathedral which was built on the ruins of a 12th church.
