It is a place where eastern and western cultures meet. Walking through the old town district we will explore many baroque buildings. The colorful farmer’s market, the cathedral of St. Nicholas, and the old medieval fortress stand up there like an old guardian of the city. We are also taking you to a local restaurant, where you will have a chance to try some of Ljubljana’s famous dishes together with a local draft beer. “Ljubljana Christmas Market” is well known for its vibrancy and cheerful atmosphere. The locals refer to the markets as the Christmas Fair where you can find mulled wine, tea, liqueurs, and various grilled dishes. After the city tour and lunch, free afternoon and overnight stay in Ljubljana.
Morning checks out and leaves towards the Austria country and Salzburg town. Our first destination for a day in Lake Bled. The stunning blue lake in the heart of the town. The picture-postcard church on the island. A medieval castle clinging to a rocky cliff and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps. This Alpine lake has been a world-renowned paradise for centuries. Lookout at the lake from a castle on a cliff and visit the island on a traditional “pletna” boat. The town of Bled is everything you could want for a cozy Christmas vacation. It’s a place for a fabulous winter escape.
